Having played it after the lot of Rare games in my marathon, I found many aspects of its design to be inferior to the games that came before it.īefore I get any flack, I will give the game credit where credit is due. As a kid, Conker was always the biggest curiosity to me, with it being one of the last games made for the N64 in high school, I shelled out $80 for a cartridge so I could have my Rare collection finally feel a bit more complete.ĭuring these past few months, I've been re-visiting several of Rare's classic platformers, including Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Tooie (which I didn't finish due to my cart no longer saving), Conker, and even the more recent Yooka Laylee.Īs I revisited Conker the most recently (alongside Yooka Laylee), I honestly found myself bored by it. It was the very first console I ever played, and I hold Rare's N64 games close to my gaming heart.
